On May 26, CNPC officially released its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility Report (CSR Report). Organized around the Company's strategic priorities, the report details CNPC's annual performance across economic, environmental and social dimensions in four areas: sustainable energy supply, responsible operations, people-centered employee development, and social contributions for better livelihoods.
In the report, CNPC Chairman Dai Houliang stated that the Company delivered strong results across all operations in 2025, with its business performance remaining among the top of China's state-owned enterprises, its phased strategic goals achieved on schedule, and solid progress made in building world-class excellence, successfully concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan period. These efforts helped safeguard national energy security and reinforce the steady and positive momentum of China's economy.
This marks the 20th consecutive year of CNPC’s annual CSR. The report was prepared with reference to multiple internationally and domestically recognized frameworks, including the Guidelines for Centrally Administrated State-owned Enterprises (central SOEs) to Fulfill Social Responsibilities with High Standards in the New Era issued by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards) of the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB), as well as the Sustainability Reporting Guidance for the Oil and Gas Industry jointly developed by the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) and the American Petroleum Institute (API). The report also reflects the specific characteristics of the oil and gas industry and CNPC's own operations, incorporates broad stakeholder input, and actively responds to public concerns.
